We Can Face This Together
I have always been drawn to work that truly impacts another person’s life. As a child, when asked what I wanted to be, my answer was simple: a mommy and a teacher. At its core, that dream was never about titles; it was about guiding others, protecting what matters most, and helping people feel informed, supported, and safe during moments that shape their future.
That calling led me to Baker University, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education and spent several years teaching. I loved helping others learn and grow, but as I began planning for a family of my own, I realized the increasing politics and lack of control within the education system made it difficult to sustain long-term. I knew I needed a different path, one where I could still educate and advocate, but with greater impact and autonomy.
In 2004, I entered the financial world at Oppenheimer & Company Inc. as the registered coordinator to the branch manager. Though finance was unfamiliar territory, I embraced the challenge and immersed myself in learning. Along the way, I benefited from strong mentorship and guidance from my father, a seasoned financial advisor of over 50 years. To this day, his guidance continues to deepen my understanding of both the technical and human sides of financial decision-making.
Several years later, I stepped away from my career to raise my own children. For ten years, I was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom, an experience that profoundly shaped my understanding of family dynamics, responsibility, and the lasting impact of financial choices made during vulnerable moments.
In 2017, I returned to Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. to work with my father, Robert D. Williams, and quickly realized that the investment world had expanded. Once again, I had some learning to do; however, I was up for the challenge. A year later, everything changed. I found myself navigating the volatile and traumatic unraveling of an almost two-decade marriage.
Like many, I was forced to make complex financial decisions while emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed. I experienced firsthand how devastating it can be to face divorce without financial clarity and how fear and uncertainty can drive conflict and long-term consequences. With my background in the financial industry, I realized that while the legal process absolutely has its place, I saw firsthand how much was missing when it came to understanding the full financial picture and making informed decisions for life after divorce.
My experience had changed everything. It renewed my passion and my purpose. I understood that people in transition don’t just need numbers; they need clarity, education, and a steady, compassionate guide who understands the emotional weight behind every decision, particularly during one of life’s most emotionally draining and chaotic transitions.
That realization prompted us to transition from Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. to Raymond James in 2023, and it led me to pursue the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® certification. It wasn’t just a credential—it was personal. I believed there had to be a better way.
Today, I combine my background in education, finance, and lived experience to help individuals navigate divorce with clarity, confidence, and compassion. My mission is simple: to replace panic with understanding, fear with strategy, and uncertainty with informed confidence, so you can protect your future and move forward feeling grounded and secure.
What once felt like the most painful chapter of my life has become the foundation for meaningful work. I would be honored to walk alongside you and help you see a clearer path forward.
